Icarus Week 255 Update: Rifle Turret

The Week 255 update for Icarus arrived on October 22, 2026, as version 3.0.33.159137. The headline addition is the Rifle Turret, a new Tier 4 defensive structure, along with several improvements that make all turrets more effective and easier to find.

New Content

• Rifle Turret: A new Tier 4 Auto-Turret that fires 7.62mm rounds, dealing roughly twice the damage of the Pistol Turret and offering around 50% greater range. It has a narrower targeting angle but improved accuracy within that range.
• The Rifle Turret sits at the end of the Tier 4 tech tree alongside the existing Pistol and Flamethrower Turrets, giving you more flexibility when designing base defenses.

Turret Improvements

• No more shooting through walls: A bug caused turrets to aim through low objects in front of them. This has been fixed so turrets no longer target through walls they cannot see past.
• Critical hits: Turrets now have a critical hit damage stat and can deal critical hit damage. The Pistol Turret has been given 200% critical damage.
• Renamed for clarity: Turrets have been renamed from "Automated Defense System: X" to "Auto-Turret: X", making them easier to search for in the Field Guide.
• The Rifle Turret's cooldown between shots was reduced from 4 seconds to 3 seconds to improve its damage output relative to the Pistol Turret.

Other Fixes and Changes

• Fixed Mammoth critical hit areas that were offset to the right, causing inconsistent headshots.
• Consistency pass across creature critical hit areas to make sure they are hittable.
• Adjusted the Elysium biome map to smooth transitions between biomes, including caves and ledges.
• Re-enabled crafting of Coconut Curry, which was accidentally locked last week.
• Fixed flavor text on the Natural Oil Refiner that was being confused with Crude Oil.
• Fixed the stat on the Sandwyrm Lure and the description and icon on the Fish Paste Lure Alteration.
• Explosive Sniper Ammo has been hidden from the Field Guide as it was showing up incorrectly.

This is a standard weekly content update. Players will need to be on the same version as the server to join. If you run mods, check with their authors to confirm compatibility with version 3.0.33.159137 before restarting.
