Two tracks
Pick the track that fits how you refer
Both pay on every renewal for as long as the customer stays. Stay two years, and you earn two years of commission; commission stops when they cancel. Creators also earn a share of the first invoice upfront. Hit 25 active referrals as a Customer and we'll invite you to apply for Creator.
What your referrals get
A real discount, applied by the link
Your offer is baked into your link as a coupon and applied automatically at checkout. Nothing to type. We set one of the two offers on your account when you're approved; it applies to monthly billing terms.
Getting paid
Three steps from referral to payout
Or take it as credit
Convert your balance to account credit and it's worth 1.5× the cash amount. $10 earned becomes $15 off your next invoice.
Applied immediately. No approval wait, no bank rails, no minimum hold once approved.
Every threshold on this page is set in USD and does not change with the currency you browse in. Commission is recorded in whatever currency the invoice was billed in and converted for comparison against these limits.
Tier movement
Earned tiers stay earned
- QuarterlyTiers are reviewed every 3 months.
- 12-month lockOnce earned, a tier is locked for 12 months. You cannot drop while locked.
- One stepNever more than one tier per review, in either direction. A drop needs 3 consecutive months below the threshold.
- Next cycleA change applies from the next payout cycle, not the moment it is decided.
Rates can change with notice. Referrals already earning keep their rate.
Tracking
One short link, tracked for 60 days
riverhosting.com/r/YOURCODEAlso works as ?ref=YOURCODE on any page, forever. Published links never break.
- 60 daysCookie window, last click wins. A newer referral link overwrites an older one.
- Per linkClicks and signups are counted per link; the balance stays per account.
- Net revenueCommission is paid on net recurring revenue: excludes VAT, setup fees, refunds and account credits.
- Stay active12 months with no new referral and no login pauses recurring commission. One new signup resets it; we warn you from month 11.
Media kit
Assets rendered with your link and offer baked in
Every asset is generated for your account from the Media kit tab in your dashboard. Pick a game and it's written into the headline. Channel art, overlays and ready-to-paste copy are coming next.
Yours to post anywhere you promote us. Please do not edit the link or the offer shown in the card, and do not present it as advertising by RiverHosting itself.
The rules
Promote honestly. That's the whole rule.
Allowed
YouTube videos, Discord communities, tutorials, blog posts, streams, honest reviews, sharing with friends.
Not allowed
Referring yourself, family or alt accounts. Paid search ads on our brand name or misspellings. Cookie stuffing, spam, misleading claims. Combining your link with promo coupons. Bot traffic or fake-signup services.
Break these and commissions are voided and the account closed. We use payment method, IP and address signals to detect self-referral. Accounts flagged for review have payouts held pending investigation.
Refunds within 90 days
A refund or chargeback within 90 days of the first payment voids the commission and the referral.
Chargebacks after payout
Deducted from the next balance. A negative balance carries forward; no payout until it is back above the minimum.
New customers only
Self-referral earns nothing. A referral that used a promo coupon earns no commission; your own link discount is exempt.
Under review
Flagged accounts have payouts held while we investigate. Nothing is voided while the review runs.
