The SCUM Halloween update (1.3.5.0.172191) went live on 28 October 2026. It brings a limited-time Halloween quest, new craftable items and a long list of fixes covering base building, vehicles, fishing, weapons and more. A hotfix for server performance was also deployed the same evening.

Halloween Event
- Talk to any General Goods trader to start the Halloween quest.
- Head to the Island's decorated graveyards and perform a midnight ritual between 00:00 and 04:00 in-game time.
- Complete the quest to unlock a Coffin Bed, Hanging Jack-o'-Lantern, Candleholders and a Cooking Cauldron.
- Graveyard cauldrons are open to all players for cooking Corpse Soup while the event is active.
- The Halloween event runs until the end of November.

Gameplay Fixes
- Grass now stays cleared under base foundations more reliably after leaving and returning to an area.
- Fully grown garden plants can now be harvested consistently after completing the Search interaction.
- Collisions with chickens and rabbits no longer launch wheelbarrows and their drivers into the air.
- Abandoned Bunker armory lockers no longer become locked again without replenishing loot.
- Multiple fishing fixes: pulling a fish while walking backward no longer breaks the line incorrectly, fish no longer get stuck underground on elevated riverbanks, and reel swaps now display correctly.
- The DT11B no longer fires the same ammo from both barrels when two different types are loaded.
- Vehicle collisions between different vehicle types now apply damage correctly, and engine idle sounds no longer carry over excessive distances.
- Animals now yield one guts item each instead of excessive quantities.
Server and Admin Fixes
- The
#setfakenamecommand now updates the displayed name for all players, not just the user. - Sentry, Attack Sentry and Dropship Damage Multiplier server settings now work correctly in Sandbox and multiplayer.
- The Enable BCU Locking setting now waits for a server restart before taking effect, as intended.
- Destroyed turrets no longer count toward the turret decay limit after being destroyed.
- Moving the default spawner preset to the override configuration no longer prevents items from taking damage when force-opened.
What this means for your server
A partial wipe has taken place on official servers. Characters retained their attributes, skills and gold, but bases, gear, supplies, Fame Points and quest progression were reset. Cash was also cleared. Private and community servers are not affected by this wipe.
A hotfix was deployed on 28 October to address player connection and ban-list checks that could cause server slowdowns. Monitor your server's performance after updating.
- Private and community servers are not subject to the official wipe, but players must be on the same updated version to connect.
- New and changed server settings are included in this update. Review the admin command and server settings fixes above and test your configuration after updating.
- If you run mods, check that they are compatible with this version before restarting.
