How to Rename Your Stationeers Server

Your Stationeers server name is what players see when they browse the server list. Giving your server a clear, recognisable name makes it much easier for friends and community members to find and join. You can change the name at any time from the RiverHosting panel without editing any files manually.

Before you start

• Make sure you are logged in to the RiverHosting panel.
• Open your Stationeers server from the server list.
• Your server should be stopped while you make this change to avoid any conflicts. You can stop it by clicking the Stop button at the top of your server page.

1. How to change your Stationeers server name

1. Log in to the RiverHosting panel and select your Stationeers server.
2. In the left-hand menu, click Server Config.
3. Look for the server name field. It may be labelled something like Server Name or World Name depending on your current setup.
4. Clear the existing name and type in your new server name.
5. Scroll down and click Save to apply your changes.
6. Go back to the top of your server page and click Start to restart the server.

2. How to confirm the name change worked

1. Once the server is running, open Stationeers on your computer.
2. Browse to the server list or use the Join option to search for servers.
3. Search for the new name you chose.
4. If your server appears with the updated name, the change was applied successfully.

Troubleshooting

• The old name is still showing in the server list. The server browser sometimes takes a few minutes to refresh. Wait a moment and try searching again. Make sure the server is fully started and not still loading.
• The Server Config page does not show a name field. Try scrolling down the page as some settings are below the visible area. If you still cannot find it, use the File Manager to check the relevant config file, or contact support for guidance.
• The name was saved but reverted after a restart. This can happen if there is a startup variable that overrides the config file. Check the Startup tab in the left-hand menu and look for a server name variable. Update it there and save again before restarting.
• Characters in the name are not displaying correctly. Stick to standard letters, numbers, and simple punctuation. Some special characters may not render properly in the in-game server browser.
