How to Upload, Download and Delete Saves on Your Satisfactory Server

3 min read·Updated Nov 3, 2026

Learn how to use the Saves page in the RiverHosting panel to bring in a single-player save, download a copy, or clear out old files so your Satisfactory factory is always safe.

Your Satisfactory factory lives in save files. The Saves page in the RiverHosting panel lets you see every save your server has written, bring in a save from your own computer, download a copy, or remove one you no longer need.

This guide walks you through each of these actions step by step.

Before you start

  • You need a Satisfactory server on the RiverHosting panel.
  • Your server must already be claimed in Satisfactory's in-game Server Manager. Satisfactory writes its first save only after the server has started and you have claimed it. If you have not done this yet, follow our guide on claiming your Satisfactory server first.
  • Your account needs permission to use the Saves page. If you cannot see it in the left-hand menu, ask the server owner to update your permissions on the Users page.
  • For uploads, have your .sav file ready on your computer.
The game picks the save, not the panel

Which save your server loads is chosen inside Satisfactory, in the Server Manager. The Saves page cannot set it for you.

1. How to open the Saves page and read the list

  1. Log in to the RiverHosting panel and open your Satisfactory server.
  2. In the left-hand menu, under GAME, click Saves.
  3. You will see your saves grouped by world. Click a world to see the saves inside it.
  4. Each save row shows its name, size and date. You may also see these tags:
    • latest save: the newest save for that world.
    • auto: a save the game created automatically.
  5. To go back to the full list, click All worlds. Use the refresh button if a new save has not appeared yet.
What you will not see here

The list does not show ServerSettings files, and it does not list blueprints. This is normal.

2. How to upload a save to your server

This is the easiest way to move a single-player factory onto your dedicated server, or to restore a save you downloaded earlier.

  1. Open Saves from the left-hand menu.
  2. Under Upload a save, click Choose a .sav.
  3. Select the save file from your computer.
  4. Wait for the upload to finish. The save keeps its own file name and is placed in the server's save folder automatically.
  5. Click the refresh button and check that the save now appears in the list.
  6. Open Satisfactory, go to Server Manager on the main menu, and connect to your server.
  7. Load the uploaded save once from Server Manager. This makes your server start using it.
Single-player saves work

A save from a single-player game can be uploaded in the same way. Just remember to load it once from Server Manager afterwards.

3. How to download a save to your computer

  1. Open Saves and click the world that holds the save you want.
  2. Find the save row. The one tagged latest save is the most recent.
  3. Click Download on that row.
  4. Keep the file somewhere safe, such as a folder on your computer or cloud storage.
Make a copy before big changes

Download your latest save before you try something risky in the game. You can also go to the Backups page and click Create Backup for a full copy of your server files.

4. How to delete a save you no longer need

  1. If the save is the one your server currently has loaded, go to Console and click Stop first. Wait until the status badge shows OFFLINE.
  2. Open Saves and click the world that holds the save.
  3. Click the delete button on the save row.
  4. When asked Delete this save?, click Delete Save to confirm.
  5. Go back to Console and click Start if you stopped the server.
Deleting is permanent

A deleted save cannot be undone from the Saves page. Download it first if there is any chance you will want it back.

Troubleshooting

  • The Saves page is empty. Satisfactory writes its first save only after the server has started and you have claimed it in Server Manager. Claim the server, create a new game, then click the refresh button.
  • I uploaded a save but my server still loads the old world. The panel cannot choose the loaded save. Open Server Manager in Satisfactory and load the uploaded save from there.
  • I cannot see the Saves page. Your account may be missing permission. Ask the server owner to check your permissions on the Users page.
  • My new save is not in the list. Click the refresh button. Also check that you opened the correct world, or click All worlds to look through everything.
  • My blueprints are missing from the list. The Saves page only lists save files. Blueprints are not shown there.
