How to Add and Manage Admins on Your Core Keeper Server
Learn how to add and manage admins on your Core Keeper server from the RiverHosting panel so trusted players can help moderate and control the game.
If you want to give trusted players admin access on your Core Keeper server, you can manage that directly from the RiverHosting panel. Admins can help keep the server running smoothly, enforce rules, and use in-game commands that regular players cannot access.
This guide walks you through finding your admin settings and adding or removing admin players from the Admins & Bans page.
Before you start
- You need an active Core Keeper server on RiverHosting. If you do not have one yet, you can order one at riverhosting.com.
- Log in to the RiverHosting panel at panel.riverhosting.com and open your Core Keeper server.
- Make sure your server has been started at least once so that player data exists.
- Have the Steam ID or in-game identifier ready for any player you want to make an admin.
A player can find their Steam ID by visiting steamidfinder.com or by checking their Steam profile URL. You will need the 64-bit Steam ID, which is a long number starting with 7656.
1. Open the Admins & Bans page
- Log in to the RiverHosting panel at panel.riverhosting.com.
- Click on your Core Keeper server to open its management page.
- In the left-hand menu, click Admins & Bans.
This page is where you control which players have admin privileges and which players are banned from your server.
2. Add an admin to your server
- On the Admins & Bans page, locate the admin section.
- Enter the Steam ID of the player you want to make an admin.
- Click the button to add or save the entry.
- Restart your server so the change takes effect. You can do this from the Console page by clicking Restart.
Changes to admin settings usually require a server restart before they take effect in-game. Make sure to restart your server after adding or removing any admins.
3. Remove an admin from your server
- Go back to the Admins & Bans page in the left-hand menu.
- Find the Steam ID of the admin you want to remove from the list.
- Click the remove or delete option next to their entry.
- Restart your server to apply the change.
4. Ban a player from your server
The Admins & Bans page also lets you ban players who are causing problems on your server.
- On the Admins & Bans page, find the ban section.
- Enter the Steam ID of the player you want to ban.
- Save the entry, then restart your server.
Banned players will not be able to connect to your server while their Steam ID is on the ban list.
Once your server restarts with a player on the ban list, that player will be blocked from joining. Double-check the Steam ID before saving to avoid banning the wrong person.
5. Unban a player
- Go to the Admins & Bans page.
- Find the banned player's Steam ID in the ban list.
- Remove their entry from the list.
- Restart your server to apply the change.
Troubleshooting
- Admin privileges are not working in-game. Make sure you restarted the server after saving the changes. Admin settings are loaded when the server starts.
- The player says they still do not have admin access. Double-check that you entered the correct 64-bit Steam ID. Even a small typo will prevent the entry from matching.
- A banned player can still connect. Confirm the ban was saved and that the server was restarted after saving. If the problem continues, check for duplicate entries or verify the Steam ID is correct.
- You cannot find the Admins & Bans page. Make sure you are viewing a Core Keeper server. This page is specific to Core Keeper and will not appear on other game servers.
