How to Add and Manage Admins on Your Conan Exiles Server

    3 min read·Updated Jul 21, 2026

Learn how to add admins to your Conan Exiles server using the RiverHosting panel so trusted players can help moderate and manage your world.

Admins on a Conan Exiles server can use in-game commands to manage players, adjust settings, and keep things running smoothly. Whether you want a trusted friend to help moderate your server or you just need admin access yourself, the process is straightforward from the RiverHosting panel.

This guide walks you through setting an admin password on your server and then claiming admin access in-game.

    Before you start

    • You need an active Conan Exiles server with RiverHosting.
    • Log in to the RiverHosting panel at panel.riverhosting.com.
    • The player you want to make an admin must have joined the server at least once.
    • You will need to be able to reach the in-game settings menu to claim admin access after setting the password.
    Pick a strong password

Your admin password protects server control. Use something long and not easy to guess, and only share it with people you actually trust.

    1. Set your server admin password

The first step is to set an admin password on your server. Any player who knows this password can claim admin rights in-game, so keep it private.

    1. Log in to the RiverHosting panel and open your Conan Exiles server.
    2. In the left-hand menu, click Server Config.
    3. Look for the admin password field. It is usually labelled something like Server Admin Password or Admin Password.
    4. Enter the password you want to use.
    5. Save your changes.
    6. Restart your server so the new password takes effect. You can do this from the Console page by clicking the restart button at the top of the page.
    Restart required

The admin password will not apply until you restart the server. Make sure no players are in the middle of something important before you do.

    2. Claim admin access in-game

Once the admin password is saved and the server has restarted, any player can claim admin rights by entering the password in the in-game settings. Here is how to do it:

    1. Launch Conan Exiles and join your server.
    2. Once in-game, open the Settings menu (press Escape on PC).
    3. Go to the Server Settings section.
    4. Find the Admin Password field and enter the password you set in the panel.
    5. Click Make Me Admin.

If the password is correct, you will see a confirmation and the admin panel will become available to you in-game. Admin access lets you use the in-game admin panel to teleport, manage players, spawn items, and run server commands.

    Admin access granted

Once you click Make Me Admin and see the confirmation, you have full admin rights for that session. You can open the admin panel with the key shown on screen.

    3. Revoke admin access

If you need to remove someone's admin access, the simplest way is to change the admin password in the panel and restart the server. Anyone who had previously claimed admin using the old password will lose their rights the next time they log in.

    1. Go back to Server Config in the RiverHosting panel.
    2. Change the admin password to a new value.
    3. Save and restart the server.

Players who had admin before will need to re-enter the new password to claim admin again. Simply do not share the new password with anyone you no longer want to have access.

Changing the password removes all active admin sessions

Changing the admin password will effectively sign out all current admins at the next server restart. Make sure any trusted admins you want to keep are given the new password.

    Troubleshooting

    • The Make Me Admin button does nothing or shows an error. Double-check that the password you entered in-game matches exactly what you set in Server Config. Passwords are case-sensitive.
    • The admin password field is empty after saving. Make sure you clicked Save before restarting. Try setting the password again and saving once more.
    • Changes are not taking effect. Always restart the server after making changes in Server Config. A full restart is needed for the new settings to load.
    • Admin panel is not appearing in-game. Make sure you are on the correct server and that you completed the Make Me Admin step after joining. Admin access is per-session, so you may need to claim it again after a server restart.
    • You cannot find the Server Settings option in-game. On PC this is accessed through the Escape menu under the Server Settings tab. Check that your game client is up to date.
