How to Connect to Your Soulmask Server

    3 min read·Updated Jul 21, 2026

Find out how to locate your Soulmask server's connection details in the RiverHosting panel and get yourself and your friends connected quickly.

Once your Soulmask server is up and running, the next step is getting into the game. This guide walks you through finding your server's connection details in the RiverHosting panel and joining your server directly from the Soulmask in-game browser.

    Before you start

    • Your Soulmask server must be installed and running. You can check its status from the top of your server page in the RiverHosting panel.
    • You need a copy of Soulmask installed on your PC.
    • If you set a server password, make sure you have it handy before trying to join.
Check the server is online first

If the server shows as Offline in the panel, click Start before trying to connect. You will not be able to join until the server has fully started.

    1. Find your server's connection details

Your server's IP address and port are shown on the Network page in the RiverHosting panel. Here is how to find them.

    1. Log in to the RiverHosting panel.
    2. Click on your Soulmask server from the server list.
    3. In the left-hand menu, click Network.
    4. You will see your server's IP address and game port listed here. Note both values down, as you will need them to connect.
    What port do I need?

Soulmask uses a game port for direct connections. The Network page shows you this port clearly. You do not need to worry about any other ports unless you are setting up RCON access.

    2. Connect to your server in Soulmask

Soulmask lets you join a server directly using its IP address and port from the in-game menu. Follow these steps after launching Soulmask on your PC.

    1. Open Soulmask and reach the main menu.
    2. Click Join Game.
    3. Look for a Direct Connect or Enter IP option in the server browser.
    4. Enter your server's IP address and port in the format shown on the Network page (for example, the IP followed by a colon and the port number).
    5. If your server has a password set, enter it when prompted.
    6. Click Connect and wait for the server to load.
    Server browser vs. direct connect

Your server may also appear in the in-game server list if it is set to public. However, using Direct Connect with your exact IP and port is the most reliable way to join, especially for private servers.

    3. Share the address with friends

If you want friends to join your server, simply share the IP address and port from your Network page with them. They can use the same Direct Connect steps above to join.

You can also set up a custom subdomain so your friends have an easier address to remember instead of a raw IP and port number.

    1. In the left-hand menu, click Subdomain Manager.
    2. Choose a subdomain name and select one of the available base domains (playriver.net, playriver.xyz).
    3. Save your subdomain. Your friends can now use this custom address to connect instead of the raw IP.
    Custom subdomain example

Instead of sharing a long IP address, you could give your friends an address like survival.playriver.net to connect with.

    Troubleshooting

    • Cannot connect or connection times out: Make sure your server is fully started and shows as Online in the panel. Wait a minute or two after starting before trying to connect, as Soulmask can take a moment to load.
    • Wrong password message: Double-check the password set in your Server Config page in the panel. Passwords are case-sensitive.
    • Server not showing in the browser: Use Direct Connect with your IP and port from the Network page instead of relying on the server list.
    • Friends cannot connect but you can: Make sure you are sharing the correct IP and port from the Network page, not your own local or home network address.
    • Custom subdomain not working: Allow a few minutes for DNS changes to take effect after saving a new subdomain in the Subdomain Manager.
