How to migrate your Satisfactory server from Nodecraft to RiverHosting
Learn how to move your Satisfactory server from Nodecraft using the RiverHosting Migrate page, so your server files come across directly with no downloading or re-uploading.
Moving your Satisfactory server from Nodecraft to RiverHosting is simple. You enable SFTP at Nodecraft, copy the login details, and let the Migrate page in the RiverHosting panel pull your files across. Nothing has to be downloaded to your computer first.
Before you start
- A RiverHosting server for Satisfactory. Create it before you migrate, so your files go into a matching server.
- Access to your Nodecraft account and the Nodecraft Pro Panel for your Satisfactory server.
- Your RiverHosting panel login at https://panel.riverhosting.com.
Fully stop your Nodecraft server before you begin, so the files are not changing while they are copied. Keep the Nodecraft server until everything works on RiverHosting.
1. Get your SFTP details from Nodecraft
SFTP is a secure way for one service to read the files of another. Nodecraft describes how to turn it on in its Satisfactory guide. In short:
- Log into your Nodecraft account.
- Open the Nodecraft Pro Panel for your Satisfactory server.
- Fully stop the server.
- Go to Server Files, then FTP/SFTP Access.
- Click Enable SFTP.
- Copy and save the Hostname, SFTP Port (usually 2022), Username and Password shown there.
Keep these four details handy. You will paste them into RiverHosting in the next section.
2. Migrate your files with the RiverHosting Migrate page
The Migrate page connects to Nodecraft from RiverHosting's side, so your own computer is not involved. It copies the files in the Remote Path folder you choose.
Make sure the Remote Path folder covers everything you need, such as your save files, any mod files and your config files. Anything outside that folder will not be copied.
- Log into the RiverHosting panel and open your Satisfactory server.
- In the sidebar, under SYSTEM, click Migrate.
- Choose SFTP as the protocol.
- Enter the Host (the Nodecraft Hostname) and the Port (the SFTP Port you copied).
- Enter your Nodecraft Username and Password.
- In Remote Path, enter the folder on Nodecraft that holds your server files.
- In Destination Path, enter where the files should go on your RiverHosting server.

Check the game before you start
If the panel recognizes the game on your Nodecraft server, it may offer two options:
- Migrate Anyway: choose this if your RiverHosting server already runs Satisfactory.
- Switch to Satisfactory: this goes through Game Changer.
Switch to Satisfactory wipes all files on your RiverHosting server and reinstalls it. A backup is taken automatically before the switch. Do this before you click Start Migration, never after.
Test and start the migration
- Click Test Connection.
- When the test succeeds, click Start Migration.
- Watch Migration Status. It shows the progress and the file being copied right now.
If a file on RiverHosting has the same name as a file being copied, it is overwritten. If you click Cancel Migration, the files already copied are kept.
3. Check your Satisfactory saves and start the server
- When Migration Status shows it is finished, open Saves in the sidebar under GAME.
- Check that your save files are listed, grouped by world.
- Go to Console and click Start.
- Open Satisfactory, go to Server Manager, and add your server using the IP and port shown at the top of the Console page. The port is required.
- If the server shows as unclaimed, claim it and set an administrator password. This password only exists in the game.
- Load your migrated save from Server Manager.
The save that loads is chosen in the game's Server Manager. The panel cannot set it for you.
You can also upload a single save on the Saves page with Choose a .sav. A single-player save works too. Load it once from Server Manager.
Troubleshooting
- If Test Connection fails, check that the Host, Port, Username and Password are copied exactly from the Nodecraft FTP/SFTP Access page, and that the protocol is set to SFTP.
- Make sure you clicked Enable SFTP at Nodecraft, because the login details appear after it is enabled.
- If the Remote Path seems wrong, go back to the Nodecraft panel and check which folder holds your server files.
- If a file you expected is missing on RiverHosting, check that your Remote Path folder includes it.
- If your save is not listed on the Saves page, check that the migration finished, then refresh the page.
- If the server does not appear in Server Manager, check that you typed the exact address including the port.
- If Test Connection keeps failing, contact RiverHosting support (see below).
