How to migrate your Palworld server from Host Havoc to RiverHosting
Learn how to move your Palworld world and save data from HostHavoc to RiverHosting with the Migrate page in the panel, so your progress arrives without any downloading.
Moving your Palworld server from HostHavoc to RiverHosting does not mean downloading your world and uploading it again. The RiverHosting Migrate page connects to HostHavoc for you and copies the files straight across, server to server. You only need to copy your HostHavoc login details and paste them into the panel.
Before you start
- A RiverHosting server created for Palworld. Create it first so your files go into a matching server.
- Your Host Havoc SFTP or FTP login details (see Host Havoc's article). You will need the host, port, username and password.
- Access to the RiverHosting panel at https://panel.riverhosting.com.
- Your Host Havoc server stopped before you begin. This is good practice so files do not change while they are being copied.
Do not cancel anything at Host Havoc until you have checked that your world works on RiverHosting.
1. Step 1: Get your connection details from HostHavoc
Host Havoc offers FTP or SFTP access for your Palworld server. Their steps say to stop the server before transferring files, then open your server in the Game Control Panel and look for the FTP Info section near the middle of the screen. It may be labelled SFTP Info instead.
- Stop your Palworld server at Host Havoc.
- Log in to the Host Havoc Game Control Panel and open your Palworld server.
- Find the FTP Info (or SFTP Info) section.
- Note the host. Host Havoc shows the host and port together in one string, written as IP:PORT.
- Note the username and password. Host Havoc says these are your control panel username and password.
On RiverHosting the host and port are two separate boxes, so split the string at the colon. The part before the colon is the Host. The part after it is the Port.
If Host Havoc shows 203.0.113.10:2022, then the Host is 203.0.113.10 and the Port is 2022.
If the section is called SFTP Info, choose SFTP on RiverHosting. If it says FTP Info, try FTP. Use Test Connection in the next section to confirm the settings work.
2. Step 2: Make sure your RiverHosting server is set up for Palworld
Your files should land in a server that already runs Palworld. The Migrate page can detect the game on Host Havoc and may offer a choice.
- If your RiverHosting server already runs Palworld, choose Migrate Anyway when it is offered.
- If it offers Switch to Palworld, this uses Game Changer. It wipes all files on your RiverHosting server and reinstalls it. A backup is taken automatically before the switch.
Do any game switch BEFORE you click Start Migration, never after. Switching afterwards would wipe the files you just copied.
3. Step 3: Run the migration on RiverHosting
- Go to https://panel.riverhosting.com and open your Palworld server.
- Stop the RiverHosting server from Console if it is running.
- In the sidebar, under SYSTEM, click Migrate.
- Choose the protocol: SFTP, SCP or FTP.
- Enter the Host (the IP part of the HostHavoc string).
- Enter the Port (the number after the colon).
- Enter your Host Havoc Username and Password.
- In Remote Path, enter the folder on HostHavoc that holds your server files.
- In Destination Path, enter where the files should go on your RiverHosting server.
- Click Test Connection. Wait for it to confirm the connection works.
- If the panel offers Switch to Palworld or Migrate Anyway, choose as described in the previous section.
- Click Start Migration.
- Watch Migration Status. It shows progress and the file currently being copied.

If a file with the same name already exists on your RiverHosting server, the migration overwrites it. If you cancel with Cancel Migration, files already copied are kept.
4. Step 4: Check your world and start the server
- When Migration Status shows the copy is finished, open Worlds & Saves in the sidebar.
- Check that your world appears in the list.
- Open Server Config to review your settings. The server must be fully offline to edit them.
- Go to Console and click Start.
- Copy the IP chip at the top of the page and join with Palworld to test.
Your RiverHosting server has its own IP and port, so tell your players the new address shown in the panel header.
Once your world works, open Backups and click Create Backup so you have a safe copy of the migrated server.
Troubleshooting
- If Test Connection fails, check that the Host, Port, Username, Password and protocol match what Host Havoc shows.
- Make sure you split the Host Havoc IP:PORT string correctly, with the IP in Host and the number after the colon in Port.
- Check that the username and password are copied exactly, with no extra spaces.
- If the connection works but nothing seems to copy, check that Remote Path points to the folder on Host Havoc that holds your server files.
- If your world does not show up, check Migration Status for the last file copied and review the Remote Path and Destination Path.
- If Test Connection keeps failing, contact RiverHosting support.

Include the error message and the step you were on, but never share your Host Havoc password in a ticket.
