How to Share Your RuneScape: Dragonwilds Server with an Invite Code

4 min read·Updated Nov 1, 2026

Learn how to find and share your RuneScape: Dragonwilds invite code from the RiverHosting panel so console and PC players can join your server instantly.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds gives your server a short invite code that makes joining quick and easy, especially for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 who cannot type a full IP address. This guide explains where to find your invite code, how to share it, and what to do if players run into trouble connecting.

Before you start

  • Your server must be running. The invite code only appears while the server is online.
  • Make sure your server's Owner ID is set correctly. A missing or placeholder Owner ID stops the server from starting. If your server will not start, check the Server Config page and set a valid 32-character Player ID in the Owner ID field.
  • Log in to the RiverHosting panel at panel.riverhosting.com and open your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server.

1. How to find your invite code

Once your server is running, the invite code is shown right at the top of your server page.

  1. Open your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server in the RiverHosting panel.
  2. Look at the server header near the top of the page. You will see a row of chips showing your server's connection details.
  3. Find the chip labelled Invite code. It sits just to the right of the IP chip and shows a short code, for example U7G7-VG1X.
  4. Click the chip to copy the invite code to your clipboard.
Code changes on every restart

The server generates a brand-new invite code each time it restarts. Always copy the current code from the panel after a restart before sharing it with players.

Code only shows while the server is online

If the server is offline or still starting up, the Invite code chip will not be visible. Start the server and wait for the status badge to show ONLINE, then copy the code.

2. How players use the invite code to join

The invite code works slightly differently depending on the platform the player is on.

PC players

PC players have two ways to join your server:

  • By invite code: Open the in-game world browser, look for the option to enter an invite code, type or paste the code, and connect.
  • By IP address: PC players can also join directly using the server's IP and port, which are shown in the IP chip in the same server header.
  • By world name: PC players can search for the world by its name in the Public tab of the in-game Worlds screen. The search is case-sensitive, so the name must match exactly what is set in Server Config.

Console players (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2)

Console players cannot type a raw IP address, so the invite code is the only way they can reach your server directly.

  1. Open RuneScape: Dragonwilds on their console.
  2. Go to the in-game world browser and find the option to enter an invite code.
  3. Type in the code exactly as shown, for example U7G7-VG1X, and confirm.
  4. If a World Password is set on the server, they will be prompted to enter it before joining.
Crossplay must be enabled for console players

Console players can only join if the Crossplay toggle is turned on in Server Config. If crossplay is off, the server is PC-only and console players will not be able to connect even with a valid invite code. You can change this setting on the Server Config page and restart the server for it to take effect.

3. How to set or remove a World Password

If you want to keep your server private, you can add a World Password so only players who know it can join, even with the invite code.

  1. In the RiverHosting panel, open your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server.
  2. Click Server Config in the left-hand menu.
  3. Find the World Password field under the Access section.
  4. Type in a password, or clear the field to make the server public.
  5. Click Save Config.
  6. Restart your server so the change takes effect.

Once a password is set, a masked World password chip appears in the server header next to the invite code. You can click the eye icon to reveal it, or copy it to share with players.

Share both at once

If your server has a password, share the invite code and the World Password together so players can join without any confusion.

Troubleshooting

  • The Invite code chip is not showing: The server must be fully online. Check that the status badge reads ONLINE and wait a moment for the header to update. If the server is offline, start it and refresh the page.
  • The invite code is not working: The code changes every time the server restarts. Make sure you are sharing the latest code from the panel. Old codes become invalid immediately after a restart.
  • Console players cannot connect: Check that the Crossplay toggle is turned on in Server Config. Restart the server after enabling it. Also confirm the player is entering the code correctly, as it is case-sensitive.
  • PC players can join but console players cannot: This almost always means crossplay is turned off. Enable it in Server Config, save, and restart.
  • Players see a version mismatch error: The client and server must run the exact same game version. Dragonwilds updates frequently. Restart your server to pull the latest build, and ask your players to update their game client too.
  • The server will not start at all: Check that your Owner ID is set to your real 32-character Player ID in Server Config. A missing or placeholder value stops the server from starting, which means no invite code is generated.
