How to Connect to Your Palworld Server

    3 min read·Updated Jul 21, 2026

Learn how to find your Palworld server's connection details in the RiverHosting panel and get your friends joined quickly so you can start playing together.

Once your Palworld server is up and running, the next step is getting yourself and your friends connected. This guide walks you through finding your server's connection details in the RiverHosting panel and joining the game without any guesswork.

    Before you start

    • Your Palworld server must be installed and running. You can check its status from the Console page in the panel.
    • Anyone joining your server needs a copy of Palworld on Steam.
    • If you have set a server password, make sure your friends have it ready before they try to join.
    Start the server first

If your server shows as Offline in the panel, click Start before trying to connect. Players cannot join a server that is not running.

    1. Find your server's connection details

Your server's IP address and port are listed on the Network page inside the RiverHosting panel. Here is how to find them:

    1. Log in to the RiverHosting panel at panel.riverhosting.com.
    2. Select your Palworld server from the server list.
    3. Click Network in the left-hand menu.
    4. You will see your server's IP address and game port listed here. Note both of these down, as you will need them to connect.
    Example connection address

Your connection address will look something like this: 123.45.67.89:8211. The IP address is on the left and the port number is on the right, separated by a colon.

    2. Join your Palworld server in-game

Once you have your IP address and port, follow these steps inside Palworld to connect:

    1. Open Palworld on your PC via Steam.
    2. From the main menu, click Join Multiplayer Game.
    3. At the bottom of the server browser screen, find the field that says Enter IP Address.
    4. Type in your server's IP address and port in this format: 123.45.67.89:8211
    5. Click Connect.
    6. If your server has a password set, you will be prompted to enter it before joining.
    Default port

The default Palworld game port is 8211. If you have not changed this, your connection address will always end with :8211. You can confirm the port on the Network page in the panel.

    3. Share the server address with friends

To invite friends to your server, just share the connection address you found on the Network page. They follow the same in-game steps above to join.

If you want to make the address easier to remember, you can set up a custom subdomain for your server using the Subdomain Manager in the RiverHosting panel. Instead of sharing a raw IP address, you could give friends an address like mypalworld.playriver.net.

    Set up a custom subdomain

Open the Subdomain Manager from the left-hand menu in the panel. You can pick a name and choose from the available base domains, such as playriver.net, playminecraft.pro, or playriver.xyz. Once set up, players can use that address instead of your raw IP.

    4. Check your server password (optional)

If you want to add or change a server password so only invited players can join, you can do this from the Server Config page in the panel:

    1. Go to your Palworld server in the RiverHosting panel.
    2. Click Server Config in the left-hand menu.
    3. Find the server password setting and enter the password you want to use.
    4. Save your changes and restart the server for the new password to take effect.
    Restart required

After saving any changes in Server Config, you need to restart your server before the new settings apply. Players will be briefly disconnected during the restart.

    Troubleshooting

    • Cannot connect at all: Make sure your server is running. Check the Console page in the panel to confirm it has started successfully and there are no error messages.
    • Connection timed out: Double-check the IP address and port on the Network page. Even a small typo will prevent the connection from working.
    • Wrong password error: Check the password in Server Config and make sure you are typing it exactly, including any capital letters or special characters.
    • Server not showing in browser: Use the direct IP connection method described above instead. Palworld's server browser can sometimes take time to update or may not list all servers.
    • Friends can join but you cannot: If you are on the same network as the server, try using the direct IP from the Network page rather than the subdomain address.
