How to Rename Your Conan Exiles Server
Learn how to change your Conan Exiles server name from the RiverHosting panel so your players can find it easily in the server browser.
Your Conan Exiles server name is what players see when they browse for servers in-game. Giving it a clear, recognizable name makes it easier for your friends to find and join your server. You can change the name any time from the RiverHosting panel without editing any files manually.
Before you start
- Make sure you are logged in to the RiverHosting panel.
- Open your Conan Exiles server from the server list.
- Your server should be running before you save changes. If it is stopped, start it first so the new name takes effect on the next restart.
The new server name will not appear in the server browser until you restart your server after saving your changes.
1. How to change your Conan Exiles server name
- Log in to the RiverHosting panel and open your Conan Exiles server.
- In the left-hand menu, click Server Config.
- Look for the server name field. It is usually labelled something like Server Name or Server Title.
- Clear the current name and type your new server name.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
- Restart your server using the restart button on your server page so the new name becomes active.
A good server name tells players what to expect. Including words like the map name, your community name, or the play style (such as PvP or PvE) can help players decide whether to join.
2. How to verify the name change worked
- Wait about a minute after restarting for the server browser to update.
- Open Conan Exiles and go to the server browser.
- Search for your new server name to confirm it is listed correctly.
- If your friends are trying to connect directly by IP, they can find your server address on the Network page in the panel.
If your players connect by IP address rather than browsing for the server, the name change does not affect how they connect. You can share the server address from the Network page in the panel.
Troubleshooting
- The name is not showing in the server browser. Make sure you saved your changes in Server Config and then fully restarted the server. A server reload is not always enough.
- The old name is still visible. Server browsers can take a few minutes to refresh. Wait a minute or two and search again.
- The name field appears blank after saving. Try refreshing the Server Config page in the panel. If the field is still empty, retype the name and save again.
- The server is not appearing in the browser at all. Check the Console tab in the panel for any startup errors, and confirm the server is fully online before searching.
