How to Change the Spawn Rate on Your Satisfactory Server
Learn how to adjust the creature spawn rate on your Satisfactory server using the RiverHosting panel so you can tune the challenge level for your factory runs.
Satisfactory lets you control how often creatures spawn in your world, which means you can dial up the danger for a harder experience or turn it down so you and your friends can focus on building without constant interruptions. You can adjust this setting directly from the RiverHosting panel without editing any files by hand.
Before you start
- Make sure you have an active Satisfactory server with RiverHosting.
- Log in to the RiverHosting panel at panel.riverhosting.com.
- Stop your server before making changes so settings are applied cleanly when it restarts.
Changing startup variables while the server is running may not take effect until the next restart. Stop the server before saving any changes.
1. How to change the spawn rate on your Satisfactory server
Satisfactory's creature spawn rate is controlled by a startup variable in the RiverHosting panel. Here is how to find and change it.
- Log in to the RiverHosting panel and open your Satisfactory server.
- Click Startup in the left-hand menu.
- Look for the variable related to creature or enemy spawn rate. It controls a multiplier that scales how frequently creatures appear in your world.
- Change the value to suit your preference. A lower number reduces spawns and a higher number increases them. A value of
1is the default rate. - Click Save to apply the change.
- Return to the main server page and click Start to bring your server back online.
Start with small adjustments. Try 0.5 for half the normal spawn rate or 2 to double it. You can always come back and tune it further after testing in game.
2. How to confirm the change is working in game
Once your server has restarted with the new setting, you can verify it is working by loading into your Satisfactory world and exploring an area where creatures normally appear.
- Start your Satisfactory client and connect to your server.
- Travel to a biome or open area where creatures usually spawn.
- Observe whether the spawn frequency matches the rate you configured.
- If you want to fine-tune further, stop the server again, go back to the Startup page, and adjust the value.
If you have already explored a large area of your world, some spawn zones may take a moment to reset after a server restart. This is normal Satisfactory behavior and is not a panel issue.
Troubleshooting
- The spawn rate does not seem to have changed. Make sure you stopped the server before saving, then started it fresh. Changes to startup variables only take effect on a clean start.
- I cannot find the spawn rate variable on the Startup page. Scroll through all the variables listed. If a variable is not visible, try refreshing the page. If it is still missing, contact RiverHosting support.
- The server crashed after I changed the value. An invalid value such as a negative number or letters may cause issues. Set the value back to
1to restore the default, then start the server and try a different value. - Changes reset after a restart. Make sure you clicked Save on the Startup page before restarting. If the value keeps resetting, reach out to support for help.
